The Greek Fries and Dogs are the standard-bearers by which I judge all other restaurant's inferior attempts to mimic their outstanding recipe. I believe the term "Greasy Spoon" was coined to describe Coney Island Lunch. Again, I judge all others by the standards set by Coney Island Lunch.
A great feature of this place is that you can order anything from the menu at any time. So, at 6am one can mosey on in for a Greek Dog and Cajun Greek Fries.
If you like good, fast, cheap diner style food and haven't tried Coney Islan Lunch, I recommend seeing a doctor for a cholesterol and heart check... Then give this place a try. -

Ohhhh this place. Well the staff are friendly but the food is terrible. By the food being terrible I mean that it taste like ass and needs to change everything about it to actually be considered edible. The food comes on plastic plate I think are bought from the dollar tree. As far as greasy spoons go it's what you would think for cleanliness a lot of dirt on the floor sticky tables and a bathroom that would make a pig feel quite at home. My advice is avoid the tetanus and go to New York lunch on peninsula.

I have been coming to this place for over 50 years, it is a hidden little secret that are locals know about but being open all night except for Sunday night Monday night if you delivered to Penn State you would triple your income college kids are starving and nowhere to go except McDonald's think about it

This is the first place we stop coming in to town and the last stop we make when leaving to go back to Illinois. I grew up on Coney Island hamburgers when living in Pottsville, PA. My grandma started taking me there when I was about six, after going to the cinema. Hamburgers with mustard, chili, and raw (onions) was the tradition for my grandma, my mother, myself, and now my kids. The Greek sauce has just the right amount of spiciness, made from chorizo meat, if I am not mistaken. Very unique flavoring that you rarely find anywhere else. I was in heaven when we moved to Erie and found Coney Island here!! Now that we are in Chicago, nothing compares so when we come to visit family, we always take at least a 12 ounce cup of Greek sauce back with us so we can continue enjoying this family tradition from home. Yes, it is a greasy spoon old fashioned diner but that adds to the experience.
